assessment of your current abilities and areas to improve. Gold Team

visit that can provide the training that can make you your best.
Adult Fitness
There are few other core workouts that can compare to Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu. Our students gain endurance, strength, and flexibility. We have
several students that have lost over 50 pounds. As a team sport, you
have others that are pushing you to get better.
Women's MMA
Women are encouraged to try all of our adult classes and they are all included in the base package. We have a women's MMA class that is designed for fitness and self defense that is a good introduction into MMA.
Competition
Gold Team Fighters Houston encourages competitions as a way to follow
your progress. Everyone will not make it to the UFC, but everyone can
find a competiton that challenges them to reach higher and train
harder. Whether it is an amateur or professional MMA fight, or local
grappling competition, these competitions provide an opportunity to
showcase the skills you are learning.
Kids Programs (Ages 4-14)
Our kids programs encourage confidence while developing the habits of
fitness and discipline. Fitness provides a learning environment where
hard work is rewarded and you can quickly see improvement. As kids grow in size and maturity, they are encouraged to join in the adult classes.
Classes
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
BJJ is a foundation element of self defense and mixed martial arts. It has proven itself through competition that a smaller, weaker, but knowledgeable Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner can defend themselves against larger aggressive opponents. A strong, disciplined student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is difficult to beat.
Many schools teach the basics which are the building blocks. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu becomes a powerful skill when it is refined by an instructor who is actively involved in competition. The transitions between moves - how the building blocks are put together - make a large difference in competition. We are glad to have Jorge "Macaco" Patino as our lead instructor. Macaco has fought professionally for over 20 years and continues to compete at the top levels. His students have benefited from this and have also reached the top levels of competition.
If you are interested in competition level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it is hard to find a better instructor in Texas than Macaco.
Mixed Martial Arts
The MIxed Martial Arts class incorporates striking with takedown attacks and defense. When combined with No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a strong MMA base is formed.
Wrestling
Wrestling is becoming increasingly important in MMA. The wrestler's ability to dictate where the fight occurs - standing or on the ground - gives a strong advantage. Wrestling can also make a messy fight which causes openings if you are aware.
